All school meals are freshly prepared on the Junior School site and served in our school halls. Our catering provider, Aspens, offers a range of well-balanced meals, with menus shared with families at the beginning of each term.

Ordering School Meals

All parents and carers are required to book school meals in advance. This ensures that every child receives the meal they have chosen.

Meals should be ordered and, where applicable, paid for through the Aspens online ordering system. Instructions on how to create an account and use the ordering system can be found in the downloads section below.

Parents and carers of children who are entitled to Free School Meals or Universal Infant Free School Meals are also required to book their child's meals in advance; however, no payment will be required.

Individual pupil codes, along with the relevant school code for either the Infant or Junior School, will be sent home in paper form. Once you have created your account, you will need to use these codes to link your child to your account, following the instructions provided.

Flexible Meal Choices

If your child currently brings a packed lunch, there is no need to order school meals for the whole week. You may wish to try school lunches on one or two days each week instead.

Meals are free for all infant aged children. 

The cost of a school meal for junior school children is £2.65.

Changes to Free School Meals - September 2026

From September 2026, more families will qualify for Free School Meals as the Government expands eligibility.

Free School Meals are not just for children who have school dinners. We are encouraging all parents and carers to check whether their child may be eligible, even if:

• your child currently brings packed lunches
• your child already receives meals through Infant Free School Meals (Reception, Year 1 or Year 2)
• you have previously applied and were not eligible
• your circumstances have changed recently

It is important to note that while eligibility to Expanded FSM will be automatically granted to all recipients of Universal Credit, families will still need to apply to receive this benefit.

Please note that even if your child currently receives free school meals, parents and carers will need to reapply each academic year. Once approved, entitlement will be awarded for the full academic year, regardless of any changes in circumstances.

Water Bottles and Fruit

Infant children are encouraged to bring a named water bottle to school each day so that they can drink fresh water throughout the day. Please do not send juice or cordial. As part of the National School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme, infant children are also provided with a free piece of fruit or vegetable each day.

Junior School children are encouraged to bring a piece of fresh fruit to enjoy at morning break, as well as a named water bottle so they can drink plenty of fresh water throughout the day.

Drinking water fountains are also available in both the Infant and Junior playgrounds.

Milk

In the Infant School, milk is provided free of charge until a child reaches their fifth birthday. After this, parents and carers have the option to pay for their child to continue receiving milk. Children who are entitled to free school meals may also be eligible for free milk. The school office prepares the milk lists, and milk is delivered to Infant classrooms by volunteer helpers.

In the Junior School, children who receive free milk, or whose parents and carers have chosen to pay for milk, collect their carton from the milk fridge in the main hall at morning break.
