Inclusion Overview
At High Down, we believe that every child has the right to learn, grow and thrive alongside their peers within their local community. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child feels valued, respected and supported. We work hard to identify and remove barriers to learning and participation that may prevent individual children or groups of children from reaching their full potential.
We recognise our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 and strive to go beyond simply meeting our legal obligations. We are committed to making equality of opportunity a lived reality for every child in our school. Our dedicated staff team work tirelessly to ensure that all children have access to a rich and fulfilling learning experience. We are proud to foster a welcoming school community where everyone is treated fairly, with dignity and respect.
We recognise the important role that families play in their children's wellbeing, development and success. Strong partnerships between home, school and external agencies are central to our approach, and we work collaboratively to ensure that children and families receive the support they need.
We are proud to have been awarded the National Nurturing Schools Award by Nurture UK in 2025, recognising our commitment to supporting the social, emotional and mental health needs of our pupils.
